Yes, Uptent is free forever on Solo Tent. No card required. You get one project, HTTP and SSL uptime monitoring every 3 minutes, a one-view dashboard, and email and Telegram alerts. Plenty to keep a single side project honest.
A project groups the monitors that belong together: your frontend, your API, that sort of thing. Each project can have as many monitors as you need. Solo Tent covers one project; Base Camp lets you pitch as many tents as you like.
You can add HTTP monitors for websites and APIs, plus SSL monitors that watch certificate expiry. Group them under one project so your frontend, API, and cert health live in one place. Every plan includes both monitor types.
Both plans run uptime monitoring from Europe and the US, so you know if it's down for everyone or just one region. Solo Tent checks every 3 minutes; Base Camp drops the interval to every 60 seconds.
Uptent has several safeguards to rule out false alerts. We use fail-safe multi-region consensus: a monitor is only marked down when both EU and US agree it failed. If one region has no healthy monitor nodes available, we skip that consensus so you still get reliable alerts. When a check does error, the monitor runs 3 rechecks before it is marked down. Only once all of that is true do we open an incident and alert you. The whole process usually finishes within 30 seconds of the first error.
Email and Telegram on every plan. We're deliberately quiet, so you only hear from us when something is genuinely wrong, not for every blip.
We're new on the market, but our uptime monitoring platform has been watching our own projects for over six months with more than 99.9% uptime. Our infrastructure splits cleanly between frontend and backend, and we run uptime workers and the database on managed, high-availability cloud providers. Each region normally has multiple nodes that can run checks, often spread across different providers for extra redundancy. If one node or region goes down, the other keeps watching.
Yes. SSL certificate monitoring is included on every plan. Uptent tracks expiry dates and alerts you before a cert lapses, alongside your regular HTTP checks from Europe and the US.
Yes. Solo Tent includes a per-project status page. Base Camp adds a global status page across all your projects, plus status badges: tiny live embeds you can drop into a README or landing page to show uptime at a glance.
Anytime, in one click. No annual lock-in, no retention call, no 'contact sales.' Downgrade back to Solo Tent and your free project keeps right on running.
